The best potential
clients are LOOKING for a reason to hire you as their coach...
...and one of the best
ways to convert those in your network to becoming clients is to give them
as taste of how valuable your coaching is.
Below, I'm going to describe a couple of variations on the FocusDay idea.
The basic idea is to invite those in your network to join you for a
FocusDay. You pick the focus and theme, invite your network and everyone
calls into a bridge several times during a single day for 5/10 minutes and
supports each other to get stuff done.
And in world where there are distractions galore and people are
increasingly on their own, these FocusDays can be a real help.
Plus, this format will give you experience with managing the dynamics of
groups of people (which is great training for group coaching which is
highly profitable).
The best way to begin is to pick a topic, idea or problem that YOU would
like to spend a day focusing (be selfish) and email everyone you know to
invite them to come play with you.
Possible Foci

Invite folks to get organized or strengthen their lives in an
important way during the one-day call-in game.

Invite folks to get a point or two on their clean sweep score

during the one-day call-in game. |

Invite folks to identify 5 or 10 things they will do during the
call-in day that will result in extreme self care. |

Invite folks to pick or bring 10 small tolerations and get them
resolved by the end of the call-in day. |

Invite folks to spend
the day with you adding 5 new people to their Team 100 list during
the day. |

Or, let folks select
their own focus for the day. |
How it works
The basic idea is to set up a conference call
and invite people (clients, friends, potential clients, members of your
group or network, family, etc.) to call in at the top of the hour. Each
shares briefly what they want to get done in the next hour to strengthen
their integrity in some way (old stuff, phone calls they've been putting
off, paperwork, old emails, etc.). You host and manage the 5-10 minute
call (listen below to the RealAudio examples of actual sessions to hear
what we mean). Everyone hangs up after the 5-10 minute check-in, gets to
work on their items and comes back at the top of the next hour to share
their wins/results. Folks can repeat the process, and most do for several
hours. The support of the group and the bookending of the hourly
check-ins provides the energy most folks need to get stuff done that
they've been putting off. Simple as that.
Listen to a real
Integrity Day call
We audio taped 5 segments of about 10 minutes
each of an actual 5-session call series. 4 participants -- they each
called in once an hour for 5 hours and shared their goals and, then, their
results, for each hour. The sessions were conducted by Thomas J. Leonard
and he has woven in Integrity Day call suggestions and tips for coaches on
how to conduct the call and respond to and interact with participants. A
great learning tool if you're thinking of offering this type of
mini-program to your clients or to the public.

Integrity Worksheets
We have created some cool worksheets that
students -- or anyone -- may use to play the Integrity Game, whether it's
during the Integrity Day calls or just on one's own. These forms are all
in PDF format and Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed for viewing.

Invitation Letter
Here a sample letter to adapt from that explains
and invites folks to call in. (Example is for the Integrity Day session.
Modify to suit.)
"If you've got some lingering stuff that needs
to be done, communicated or handled, just bring it to a call we call the
Integrity Day Game. Call in at 12noon, 1pm, 2pm or 3pm eastern, share what
you're going to handle (or start if it's a real biggie) during the hour,
(we share for about 5 minutes) and then call back at the top of the hour
and share what you got done, to the cheers of the crowd on the phone. It
may sound corny, but it works, and it's fun. And it's a great way to learn
how to offer this type of high-value-added to clients or the public! And
it's free. You may call in at any of the times listed, or call in for all
3 times. Our final call is at 4pm, but it's a check-in/reporting call for
those who called in at 3pm."
Free bridge rental
You can now
schedule a 30-person
bridge for free at
http://www.mrconference.com so now there's no excuse not to host a
couple of these FocusDay calls. Or, you can also use CoachVille's
automated system of booking bridges, 30-person and 150-person, by going to
http://www.bridgerentals.com
And, finally...
Even if 99% of the
folks in your network do not respond to your invite, they WILL be
impressed and will remember you. And, as you get more specific with your
foci/offerings, it's a great way to educate your network on the specific
things you can do for/with clients.
And, for me, the ultimate benefit of running these is that I get to get
that stuff done myself during these call-ins. Great structure for the
coach who is working at home/alone.
