Recruiter Turned Coach

Ingrid Adams photoI come to coaching from a background in Human Resources, specifically Recruitment, Selection and Assessments. I've worked in advisory and management capacities in large corporations, and my disillusionment with corporate life eventually led me to abandon the gains of industry for the allure of travel.

With little more than a backpack, a shrinking budget, insatiable wanderlust, and my saxophone to accompany me, I left South Africa for London, arguably the traveler's paradise.

After a few months exploring foreign cultures, I settled in London. My work assignments ranged from latte making and managing in my local Starbucks, to recruiting executive managers for a leading e-HR company. During these adventures I discovered coaching and avidly researched the profession, all the while recognising that my professional interest, personal skills, and natural ability had found its "home." Coaching is the profession I was born to do. I have no doubt.

My research into coaching led to me CoachU and after interviewing a couple of coaches, and enlisting her services, I signed up for the CTP. The ease of the teleclass scheduling as well as the incredible wealth of information and quality people in the CoachU community makes the CTP a lifelong learner's dream. After more than 2 years of living as an expatriate in London, I recently returned to my home city of Cape Town. The tropical climate and laid-back lifestyle is the perfect environment for my intrepid spirit. The transition of my coaching practice to the South African market is my current focus and I am already experiencing client interest after one week! I credit CoachU for harnessing my mission to influence my world by colliding with destiny!
