Nanny Turned Coach

Kathy Brandt photoI began my career in childcare at the ripe old age of 10. I ended up taking care of my brother and sister when I was entirely too young to understand the development of children. I continued to work with children because that is all I knew how to do.

I worked in many daycare facilities and in private homes and constantly saw that the problem between parents and children was they didn't understand each other. I did well in the field because I saw both sides.

Next I began "nannying" for a family of coaches. They took me into their family two years ago and in doing so provided a place for me to learn, grow, and heal.

I've been searching for as long as I can remember for a job that would fit what I know instead of one that I would have to fit into. I believe that there is a huge need to bridge the gap between parents and children and my goal is to build self-esteem, help break down walls, open the lines of communication, and build bridges between family members.

Working as a coach will help me heal wounds by helping others and constantly working to be an example of what I can provide for my clients.

The opportunity to attend CoachU has been an incredible gift that I will share for as long as I live. If you believe in what you are, believe in what you want, and you will find a way to get there.
